If counted as a single nation state, the Visegrád Group is the 5th largest economy in Europe and 12th largest in the world.

Economic growth in Poland is estimated to increase to 3.1 percent in 2017, up from 2.5 percent in 2016, according to the latest edition of the Global Economic Prospects report. In 2018 and 2019, the economy is forecast to grow by 3.3 and 3.4 percent, respectively, supported by robust domestic demand, especially private consumption.

Previously, in October 2016, the World Bank had estimated Poland’s GDP growth to reach 3.2 percent in 2016, and 3.4 and 3.5 in 2017 and 2018, respectively. However, the lower forecasts published in the January 2017 Global Economic Prospects report are the result of a higher than expected deceleration of investment in recent quarters.
