January 26th: New Year event at the Polish Embassy

The Bepolux annual program started January 26th, with the traditional New Year Event, hosted by H.E. Mr. Artur Harazim, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland.  In his welcome speech Ambassador Harazim commented on the political scene in Poland and stated that democracy is well alive in Poland.  Chairman Luc Vansteenkiste confirmed the potential on the Polish market for Belgian and foreign investors.


March 8th: breakfast meeting with VOKA Limburg

The ambition of the meeting was to initiate the participants in “do’s and don’ts when doing business in Poland”.   Speakers with expertise in doing Business in Poland commented on this subject.   Entrepreneurs form the region, with business operations in Poland, presented testimonials about their experiences, to the participants.


March 10th, 2016: Presentation of opportunities related to EXPO 2020 in LODZ!

In cooperation with the POLISH EMBASSY TRADE AND INVESTMENT PROMOTION SECTION, BEPOLUX organized a personal briefing by Mrs. Hanna Zdanowska, President of the city of LODZ, about the upcoming organization of EXPO 2020 in LODZ. This international exhibition has the ambition to present the challenges and issues related to cities revitalizations. Lodz, the second largest city in Poland, is on the hedge of a historical period of renovation and revitalization offering a wide range of opportunities for international companies with expertise in architecture, construction, City renovation, infrastructure, security, environment, utilities, etc. 


April 21st: Business lunch with Mr. Didier Reynders, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs


In his address to the Bepolux members, Deputy Prime Minister Didier Reynders commented on the actual topics in the Belgian foreign policy and the European Union.

May 19th: Political update of Poland

The presidential and parliamentary elections in Poland in 2015 have brought a new president and a new government to power in Poland.   Opinions and thoughts by JUREK KUCZKIEWICZ, journalist, EU senior writer at LE SOIR about the impact on Polish internal political priorities, Foreign policy, EU policy, business environment.



Michal DYBULA, Chief economist Central and Eastern Europe BNP PARIBAS commented on the economic expectations in Poland for the next five years.


October 27th: Ambassador’s Welcome

Business lunch at the occasion of the nomination of H.E. Mr. Artur ORZECHOWSKI, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of Belgium. Mr. Artur Orzechowski joined the foreign service in 1994, rising through all the ranks from section head to director of the Department of the Americas (in 2008-09), and the European Policy Department (since 2013). He also gained extensive diplomatic experience at Polish diplomatic missions in Canada, the United States (head of the political section of the Polish Embassy in Washington from 2005 until 2007) and Brussels (Deputy Permanent Representative of Poland to NATO and the Western European Union in 2007-08). He graduated in Romance studies from the Maria Skłodowska-Curie University in Lublin; he also completed the National School of Public Administration.
